F-86

The F-86 was a trans-sonic combat aircraft developed for the USAF during the 1940's. Both fighter-bomber and fighter-interceptor versions were made. This aircraft was used extensively in Korea. While the F-86 is a subsonic aircraft, it is capable of breaking the sound barrier during a dive. This officially happened on April 26th, 1948.
