F-16


The F-16 is a lightweight, multi-role fighter. The F-16 program is the largest figher program in the west, with over 4,000 aircraft used in 25 countries. The F-16 has a long history of operational success. In 1981,
The Israeli Air Force sent eight F-16s to destroy the Iraqi nuclear reactor at Osiraq. The first air-to-air kills by an F-16 were also achieved by the Israeli Air Force against Syria. The next year, in Operation Peace For Galilee, the Israelis achieved complete air superiority using F-15s and F-16s, without losses.
